The Affordable Care Act is the name of the health reform legislation signed into law by President Obama in March 2010. The law, and the reformed health insurance market it created, are more commonly referred to as Obamacare today.

Obamacare radically changed the way that many Americans get and pay for their individual and family health insurance coverage. It also changed the way that many health insurance companies do business.
